Position Overview:
Senior Enterprise Storage Engineer is responsible for the "Engineer, Design, Build" phase of IT infrastructure service delivery; taking requirements, designing, and packaging solutions for deployment to operational support teams.
The Storage Engineer will provide the expertise to design, build, and support the operation of enterprise class storage and backup solutions. Knowledge and leadership in emerging storage technologies is expected.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
5+ years of experience with storage systems; providing 3rd and 4th level storage systems support to database, storage and/or tape backup administrators.
3+ years experience engineering solutions and instrumentation (including Storage Resource Management tools) for EMC, and/or NetApps Network Attached Storage (NAS), and/or Veritas Netbackup Tape Backup/Restore technology for mission critical, enterprise applications and databases
Demonstrated administration experience with UNIX (Solaris and HP/UX preferred) and Windows servers, including partnering with system administration, database administrators, operations & production support, and applications teams.
Demonstrated experience leading small- to medium-sized technology (preferably storage or backup-related) projects in support of business initiatives.
Demonstrated experience integrating enterprise architectures into viable, usable, and supported solutions then deployed into the operational environments including application and database servers
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and presentation skills, and project management skills
Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with internal associates, external customers, and vendors.
Expectations:
Provide advanced Storage and Backup technical expertise to project team members.
Coordinate, plan, and manage both short term and long term projects and work in a multi-discipline team environment.
Diagnose and analyze system related issues and recommend and implement appropriate solutions.
Lead technical teams and/or complex projects.
Meets with vendors to resolve system hardware and software issues and to evaluate new products.
Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures.
Position 2)

Interview process: Candidates living in Orange County will be interviewed 1st, candidates that will fly in for face to face on own expense will also be considered
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and analyze system and storage related issues and recommend appropriate solutions based on knowledge of the appropriate systems and systems software.
Provide application support and communicate periodically with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements, and potential impacts.
Support enterprise Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Tape Backup/Restore technology in a mission critical environment.
Support UNIX and Wintel admins day to day and team with data center operations, production support and escalation teams.
Experience performing 1st, 2nd & 3rd level 24x7 production support on storage and tape backup environments.
Experience performing 24x7 production support.
Support EMC, HDS, or similar high-end and mid-range SAN Arrays including LUN allocation/masking, performance, capacity management and remote replication.
Support Network Attached Storage.
Manage access via NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI.
Knowledge of McData and Brocade SAN Directors/Switches zoning.
Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup Enterprise or equivalent enterprise backup/restore tools included setup of new policies/schedules, setup tape pools, restore data to UNIX and Wintel serves.
Perform capacity planning.
Experience as systems admin. for at least one of these OS: i.e. adding users, filesystems, installing products, writing scripts, upgrading OS versions, troubleshooting performance issues, etc.
Knowledge of HP-UX including LVM and fibre HBAs.
Knowledge of Solaris with disksuite and Veritas volume manager and fibre HBAs.
Knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 including Veritas volume manager and MS clustering and fibre HBAs.
Thorough TCP/IP skills on servers.
Key technology skills preferred:
HP Vantage Point Operations (VPO)
Perl/Korn/Shell scripting
Other Attributes Desired:
