Job Description:
One of my clients in DC is looking Business Analyst with Fixed Income, Summit and banking experience for a 3+ month project.
Skills:
• Min. 6 years of direct experience in business analysis and data and process modeling techniques • Good banking experience is critical • Experience with at least one standard methodology is required • In-depth experience with the Summit application – specifically all trading, accounting and settlement modules for fixed income instruments • Thorough understanding of investment processing related to fixed income operations • Minimum 6 years experience in investment operations – trade decision and capture, valuation, accounting, cash management, reporting, settlement and custodian interfaces • Outstanding analytical and documentation skills • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of system/business processes and interact with mid-level business users to extract business process details • Excellent communication and facilitation skills:
o Effective listening: ability to clearly document the real business need o Influencing: Ability to lead the business to a solution that will meet their true needs.
o Empathy: Ability to see the solution in the eyes of the customer.
o Personality smart: Ability to understand the client’s personal style and match with equal style that is not threatening (e.g., to a detailed style: provide detail, to a conceptual thinker: keep it high level).
o Efficiency and discipline: Able to work on multiple tasks at the same time, excellent planning and coordination ability
Desired Skills:
• Accounting and Settlement concepts and procedures • Financial messaging techniques – specifically: SWIFT, MQ Series and XML • Treasury operations – front, middle and back office • Capital markets, including understanding of financial products such as loans, equities, derivatives, etc • Cash management and risk monitoring concepts • Portfolio management • Knowledge of data warehousing, data structures and ETL tools • Practical experience with reporting and analysis • Experience with the Rational Unified Process (data flow diagrams, activity hierarchy diagrams, use case diagrams, activity diagrams, data models) is highly desired.
