It looks like FileZilla will do what I need once I learn how to configure it.

What software do you recommend for synchronizing the files on a website with Those on my local PC? I maintain the majority of the files on the website of an amateur hobbyist Club, but six other members also make changes to the website. The site has Nearly a gig of info in about 100 folders and 3,000 files. I need a tool for Downloading via FTP all the files on the website that are newer than the ones On my local PC. The newer files should replace the older ones. As a bonus, I d Also like to know which files on the site don't match my local ones (older or Of different size), and which local files are not on the website. I will probably do the synch operation every few weeks, therefore, I want to Download only the newer files. File types are HTML, CSS, DOC, XLS, and PDF, Plus some CGI. Club dues are quite low, therefore, freeware or low-cost software is Preferred. Thank you for the advice.
Filezilla will upload and download your web site.
I use filezilla as my FTP program. Its the easiest to use I have found.
I may use it exclusively at some point, but right now, I want merely to synchronize a website that has had many different contributors. I have read the FAQ and one of the online tutorials, but the info isn\\\'t comprehensive. I suppose I will need to join one of the FileZilla forums. Prior to doing that, can you tell me how to configure FZ to stay connected to my remote site for more than 5 minutes? Also, it appears that when comparing modification time, green background indicates newer file, white background indicates same modification time, and yellow indicates a file that does not exist on both machines. Is there a way to select only the green files or only the yellow files for processing? Thanks for the help.
I think the help file in Filezilla gives you enough to connect and use the
program. Settings are all under the Edit menu. It is best to tell the program to only upload changed files the colors are not important. It soul remine connected till you disconnect so make sure of your firewall settings.
