Outlook 2007 Email problem

By: rekha singh | 03 May 2010 5:49 pm

Just today I started having a problem that I don't know how to fix with my Outlook 2007 email program. When I originate an email or respond to someone's email it is now putting a space between paragraphs when I hit the return. It has never done this before today and I do not want it to do this. Can anyone advise on what adjustments I need to make to permanently get rid of the space after a hard return. I know how to "fix" it by going to Format Text, Paragraph and checking the box but this only fixes each incidence in a particular email and does not permanently fix it in all emails.

I would check the Options for settings for Composing emails to see if you can set the font and style or stationary to use for Text and HTML emails.

I have Outlook 2007 here and I just tried it out. If you open a new message and look at Styles under the Format

Text tab, you have to click on the tiny arrow in the bottom right corner of the Styles section. This gives you the full list of possible styles and the one you want to modify, Normal, is in there. Right click on that, choose Modify and take it from there according to his instructions. It's important to select the option to apply the change to new documents based on this template.
