Laptop to HDTV

By: rekha singh | 10 Mar 2010 4:52 pm

I have a new laptop that I would like to attach to my new LCD TV as a monitor.

The TV has a PC Input port and an audio port. The pictures show hooking the laptop up in that way. It speaks to using a ferrite core monitor cable and a stereo mini cable to do this.

Both the TV and the Laptop have HDMI ports. Might I be able to hook it up that way to use the TV as a monitor for the laptop?

Hi ,
I use my Sony 32" Bravia LCD that way.

On my TV remote I use the Input select button and choose HDMI 1 My TV has 2 HDMI inputs as well a PC and component.

Hi,

I just got a new battery for my Lenovo X60 laptop. I came across the info that some batteries of the type I bought are subject to recall, so I decided to test mine using a dedicated tool Lenovo provides, as well as with their power-management software that's installed on the machine.

Happily, the battery seems to be fine, but I noticed something in the power-management software numbers. The application, by the way, gives very detailed information about the battery.

What caught my eye is that the software says, "Voltage 16.75 V", but also "Design Voltage 14.4 V".

Not being familiar with electronics concepts such as this, my first impression is that either my AC adapter or the laptop itself is somehow "overcharging" the battery, which I assume is not good for its long-term life.

All of the other numbers look "right".

Any insights, comments, or suggestions about this, please?

Thanks very much.
