Free download manager

I have used free download manager for over a year without problems. suddenly it wont work for rapidshare files anymore. it works fine for the hotfiles site. this is what it does, it downloads the files to 30.6MB then says it's finished. It's not finished, there is nothing to join.
I have uninstalled and then reinstalled without results. can anyone advise? I am used to this program and dont want to have to learn another one.
