Dispartitioning.

By: rekha singh | 31 Aug 2010 5:06 pm

Hi friends!

I have a strange question in the administrative tools here in diskmanagement i have a diskpartition which is unknown to windows.
It's a backup partition from pacakrd bell which was there when i bought this crappy computer.Actually i really don't want that partition and i dont want this backup. Can i delete this partition within windows?Or can i do it within console mode.I am blind so i am using a screenreader which makes it impossible to do things for me in bios or outside windows (except the dos mode and linux).
Any help highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It is probably an hidden partition containing the windows installation in case you'd have to restore your windows from scratch. Better not delete it, in case you'd need it after a big windows failure.

Parkard Bell and many other makers put the system back up files in a partition rather that give you a CD. You could delete the partition but would than not have the original files to do a restore. It takes up very little space so would not be much of a gain to delete it.
