Connecting laptop to tv

By: rekha singh | 10 Mar 2010 4:47 pm

My Thinkpad 500 is model 2603-17N. I purchased it in the mid 90's

It has three ports on the back. an enhanced parallel port, a port for connector cable serial and diskette drive. The third port is round and called external video port. The users guide shows an external video connecter cable attached. The users guide shows the pin-outs for these cables.

The external video connector cable itself has a a 9 pin female connector. The connector looks exactly like the one I connect to my
six month old HP laptop who's cable is male.

I imagine I could get a male to female adapter and connect the 500 to the Dell Flat screen monitor.

You have to have a TV card to use the connection so I doubt that your Thinkpad has one installed. Best check that it has one.
