Avira Help

By: rekha singh | 03 Apr 2010 11:47 am

Hello,

I am using FREE Avira antivirus and just updated from 9 to 10 and now every time I start my pc (using WinXP) it always gives me the following message (see below) Can anyone help a novice out with a step-to-step guide on what I should do as never done anything like this before.

Message

Avira  Warning

You have administrator rights.

You are currently working with administrator rights.

For security reasons, it is generally recommended that you only work with a restricted user account.

Only option I have is to – not show message again or go to support

if you are the only user of the computer, then just "don't show message again". Basically, for more security, then many folks recommending not using the computer as administrator all the time but rather setup a user account. I don't bother because no one else but me uses my system.

I am trying to download the Free version of Avira on my PC with Windows XP...I then had a yellow file folder placed on my desktop as a zip file, how do I activate or upload the program to my system from there? I extracted all the files but it is not installed on my PC yet? I didn\'t have any trouble with my my Firewall installion or my SPyware installion. What am I doing wrong or what is the next step to do? Thanks
