Autoplay and showing all file names on pc ? ?

Whenever I connect an external hard drive via usb, it keeps displaying the autoplay message and very rapidly showing all the file names for the files on my pc, after a few minutes I cancel the autoplay, and all is ok, but is there any way of it not doing this please ? |
